Hey guys, I bought an Innovate LM2 quite a few years ago and have never been able to fix the rpm recording to match the tach readout. Has anyone solved this? I was on their web site but they asked me not to post there anymore???? I tried grounding, potentiometer, resisters and have had no success. It is hooked to the tach terminal on my Mallory 7 box. Also tried it on an MSD 7al3 box, same result.

Sounds like you don't have the RPM input configured correctly for the number of cylinders or some other parameter ....... as described in the instructions. The LM-2 and all the other Innovate data recording devices will work with just about any engine under the Sun but you need to tell it what kind of engine you are connecting it to, 2-stroke, 4-stroke, rotary, how many cylinders, etc. Did you read the instructions? ... Thanks Tuner, I did read the instructions and set all the parameters correctly. Several others with the LM2 have had similar problems. One guy fixed it by buying the SSI ad on box and used that for to read the rpm's. I also tried using a capacitor to filter the power going into the mallory box. I'll look and see if they have a newer firmware update.
