Picked up a 7044262 "Unicorn" Pontiac quad. Looks like the "Drilling Squad" may have got to it. In mapping out the carb, I found the idle discharge ports had been taken out to .105". I'm thinking about making repair bushings from .125" OD thinwall brass tube thats .0925" ID. Sound like a good idea?

Ahhhh yessss, the "DBD" (drill baby drill, AKA dribble) school of carburetor modification. Whatever fixes it is a good idea. Do you mean to put the tube horizontally or vertically?

What I was thinking of was opening the .105 up to just shy of .125 to fit the bushing. Not sure if I have enough room/meat without getting to the threads though? Open to a better way if there is one.

Sounds like an OK idea to me. I have done that, used a bit of brass, an old bleed or bit of tubing, to bush the idle adjustment orifice in Holley reverse idle metering blocks that show up on standard "foreward idle" carbs. For several years, a decade or two ago, some "emission legal" 600 VS were manufactured with the wrong metering block, a 'backwards' smog style on a standard type main body, resulting in the curb idle adjustment orifices are so large, .106" ?? instead of .063", the mixture screw is so sensitive it is useless.
