Well you can't blame the operator :roll: , the brake pad "squealer" wasn't touching the rotor, so how would he know the brakes were in this condition :wft?: . I bet there was a shower of sparks "for a while" before this was found. Just another case of an uncaring owner's motto of "get in and drive it", sad that they would put themselves and/or others in danger.

As a tester at a company that does performance testing of vehicles (and I specialize in brakes), all I can say is WOW! I have seen and done some impressive destruction, but that just takes the cake. I am impressed the piston went out that far before coming out of the caliper.
