The ignition system is a msd billet 85551 dist locked out timing with a new bronze dist gear for the solid roller cam.
The cam gear shows no wear. There is no walk in the cam.
The MSD 6530 programmable ignition box is being used.
The 6530 has the map curve zeroed out and the step retard is 10 degrees when the nitrous is activated when I first set it up.
I have verifyed that the step retard is pulling 10 degrees when activated with a timing light.
The timing is 32 degrees at 1000 rpm but when I rev engine to 4K the timing backs up 4 degrees.
The ignition coil is close to the ignition box.
I still need to check the box with my laptop to verify nothing has changed.
I am going to call MSD after I check with laptop but I have very little confidence in them knowing what is causing this.
Has anyone on here seen this before.

I have seen it on the dyno on a small block and it was pushing the stock timing cover out even with the button..
