This is the only log I got last Saturday before the O2 sensor died. It was a 5.69 pass on the newly polished left lane at Lakeland.

At the suggestion of Carb Guy at the BLP Shootout last year I added engine oil temp.

This is the calibration for the data log here.

Is the sensor near the open end of the exhaust? I wonder if the oscillations are from fresh air getting to the sensor or if the carb has hyperactivity in the main air bleed department. Using the Smoothing on the AFR, the average AFR is trending a full ratio leaner from start to finish and there appears to be a lean hump at the shift. The shift anomaly could be an anomaly of the smoothing unless it is evident in other logs. The AFR oscillation and the shift lean bump could be too much main/emulsion air but the trend lean over the full pass is probably more related to the air intake, scoop vs. vent situation.

Keep in mind, such speculation is only worth the electrons that put it on the internet.

Not sure what things will look like after this weekend. It appears that I had an O2 sensor that was intermittant. It's got a new sensor and we'll see what it looks like later.

The O2 is in the number one pipe 10 inches or so before the collector merge.

The choppiness of the O2 is excess emulsion. The engine seems to like it though. I went 10.90@148 in South Georgia. If I can ever make a 1/4 mile pass it might go 150 with no stop. Plugs look good, a dark grey color in the exhaust, and engine seems to be happy still.

We ran this calibration on the dyno and it made some more power than it did with less emulsion so we did some A B A testing with this carb and another to confirm what we found.

Still, I'm not all that crazy about the O2 trace and it's looked worse.

BTW this is a three circuit carb with a 1.78 venturi and a 2.125 throttle plate.

Do I need some special software to see this log? I just get a load of random figures, letters and numbers.

Mark, I have Data Link II. I think it's 3.8.6 version. Would that work for the Racepak logs that guys post?

It should, Bruce has an Innovate logger and Logworks would be what you need.
